From June 16 to June 24, 2026, Professor Zhao Zhiqing from the School of Architecture and Design of Harbin Institute of Technology, together with Professor Liu Kun, Executive Dean of the Future Design School at Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), and supported by the China–SCO Doctoral Talent Cultivation and Innovation Center, led a delegation of seven outstanding doctoral students from Harbin Institute of Technology. Over an eight-day period, the delegation traveled through three historic and culturally significant cities—London, Cambridge, and Paris—conducting in-depth visits to leading academic institutions, including the UCL Bartlett School of Architecture, Central Saint Martins at the University of the Arts London, the University of Cambridge, the University of Paris, and the Paris Headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The visit focused on four core thematic areas: urban renewal and urban design, the preservation and transmission of urban and rural historical and cultural heritage, urban civilization and urban-rural governance, and planning heritage alongside civilizational exchange and mutual learning. Through these engagements, the delegation established substantive collaborative relationships with several internationally renowned scholars, achieving fruitful outcomes.
