Professor Alterman is an internationally acclaimed expert in urban planning and law. Based at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, her fields of research include comparative land use law and land policy, comparative property rights, public participation in planning and the implementation of public policy. She is the Founding President of the International Academic Association on Planning, Law and Property Rights and co-founded the International Platform of Experts in Planning Law. Rachelle is also a consultant to UN-Habitat, the OECD and the World Bank.
Prof. Rachelle Alterman gave several lectures at School of Architecture, Harbin Institute of Technology in June, 2017. She also participated in the IACP conference here. The speeches are wonderful and vivid. Meanwhile,she also made deep academic discussion with the research team lead by Prof. Lu Ming, named Institute of Urban-rural Renaissance and Development, and a preliminary academic platform was established.
